Two members of the Armada Argentina and one from the Army were sentenced yesterday to life imprisonment for crimes against humanity committed in the clandestine center of detention (CCD) that ran in the local Naval Base. For the first time the courts ordered two sailors for human rights violations. With this ruling, is hereby established in Mar del Plata, the Army and Navy inter-acted to impose terror. Gen. Alfredo Arrillaga, Navy Captain Ignacio Justo Roberto Ortiz and Rear Admiral Luis Pertusio were sentenced to life imprisonment and perpetual disqualification and co-authors considered criminally responsible for the crime of unlawful deprivation of liberty mediate aggravated by violence; imposition of aggravated torture for being politically persecuted in competition and premeditated murder of two or more people. For the last the court decided to acquit Arrillaga for the kidnapping and torture of Salvador Regine and torture against Alicia Rodríguez de Bourg.
complainant's lawyer, Cesar Sivo said that for the first time the courts ordered two members of Argentina Navy for violations of human rights. Certainly the list of marine thickens when the trial for the crimes committed in the NCO School of Naval Mechanics (ESMA) comes to an end.
